HTC One Max Headed for Q4 2013?

With the HTC One having a 4.7inch screen compared to the 5inch screen of the S4 or Xperia Z, some HTC fans want a larger screened handset. While personally I like phones that fit in my pocket, some would like a Phablet to compete with the new Note 3 coming soon. Different sources state that the Taiwanese phone maker is in the process of creating the HTC One Max a phablet version of the One for the fourth Quarter of the year.

HTC One Max – For those who like BIG!

It appears HTC is rounding out their One variants with the HTC One Max, while the HTC One Mini may be for those who don’t want a large phone; the Max is for those who do.

Currently there are very little specs available, even rumoured specs. As far as we know, the screen size should be 5.9inches, which is a 1.2inch bump from the original, of course with a 1920×1080 resolution.

HTC One Max Another Possible Look for the Phablet

We don’t know much about who will make the display, however with the quality of the One’s display it can’t be too bad. The hardware will also likely include a 2.2-2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor and a 3200 mAh battery, which by the way is massive.

The battery is larger than the one inside the new Xperia Z Ultra, which has a larger screen than the One Max. With that accounted for, the One Max will very likely be able to last almost two days with average use.

2GB of RAM and an UltraPixel camera are also specs expected by Phandroid, while we don’t know the resolution of the camera. It’s expected that the UltraPixel camera will be of higher resolution than the original One (Pun not intended) however, this hasn’t been confirmed.

Rounding out the software should be Android 4.2.2/4.3 Jelly Bean coupled with Sense 5. It’s unknown what will happen with Android Key Lime Pie (5.0) and whether or not it will be on the HTC One Max by Q4, however we suspect HTC will do their best to upgrade the new phone whenever possible. We don’t expect any changes in Sense when the new Phablet rolls around, however there may simply be minor updates and bug fixes.

While the phone maker hasn’t released any details on the gigantic HTC One Max yet, we’ll keep you updated on any news about the new Phablet.
